 Donkey Information Sign
Also known as burro or ass, is the longest eared member of the equine family. The female is called a jennet or jenny and the male is known as a jack. Donkeys are grouped by size: miniatures are 36" and under, mammoths are 54" and over and everything in between are standards. Colors range from grey-dun, black, or white spotted. Donkeys are affectionate, curious and gentle, but also cautious which is often mistaken for stubborness. Donkeys are used for riding, driving, packing or guarding sheep, and make wonderful family pets.

Mule Information Sign
A wonder of nature. A mule is the result of breeding a male donkey (also called a burro or jackass) to a female horse (mare). Due to a chromosome imbalance of this hybrid breeding, a mule is almost always sterile. A male mule is called a john and is usually gelded to make him more manageable. A female mule is called a molly. When a reverse breeding of a male horse (stallion) to a female donkey (jennet or jenny) occurs, the resulting foal is called a hinney which is also usually sterile.
